I know it’s hard to believe, but I don’t own an iPod.
“What?!” you ask? ”But you’re a DJ, a geek… a gadget nerd.”
That’s what I said! But to be fair, I did buy one of the first generation iPods right out of the gate, so there.
I do, however, own a selection of MP3 players that until recently were basically useless since I manage most of my music in iTunes, even the stuff I use with BeLoud Entertainment, my DJ business.
But recently I stumbled upon a solution, and put it in to play… iTunes Agent.
iTunes Agent is a freeware program that lets you take any offline media player or storage media and manage it with iTunes. It downloads, installs, and configures in about five minutes. And if you have created a folder in iTunes in advance, you can sync it with your device moments later and begin listening to all your wonderful music on non-iPod devices.
I’m using it to use a Sandisk Sansa (paid $10 each for a couple of them on Woot!) to hold all of my podcasts, and another to hold 4gb of my favorite music.
I know, I can’t watch movies or play silly games on my Sansas, but that’s what cell phones are for.
If you don’t want to pay hundreds of dollars for the newest iPod technology and you have a couple of cheap MP3 players lying around, bring them to life with iTunes Agent.
Download and watch a demo of iTunes Agent HERE @ CNET TV.
Stay Bizzy!
